Shipping & Delivery

As a result of increased volume of shipments across the country, all our carriers have posted delay warnings that stress delays are still to be expected and delivery times ARE NO LONGER GUARANTEED.

As a result, we can not guarantee the delivery of the parcels on the posted dates. Delays of 2-3 days are easily expected and the XpressPost and Priority services are unfortunately, also been impacted.

This has impacted the on-time delivery records of Party Things, as our company relays on the posted delivery dates from our shipping suppliers.

As Party People we are, we will make sure your parcel contains awesome party supplies, and we will leave the handling, transportation and delivery to the experts: our carriers. Once that cardboard box is out of our hands, we have no control over when tracking information is posted, where is left in your residence, and how long it takes to arrive. We wish we do have that power, but understandably, we don't.

At Party Things, every order is received with excitement and prepared with diligence. Here below you will find some information about our shipping methods. Contact us if there is something else you need, we will be happy to try to accommodate any special requirements by e-mail (we check it all the time!). We are here to help you.

When will my order ship?

Orders typically ship the next business day from the day your order is placed online. 

How much does my shipping cost?

Shipping costs are calculated based on the size and weight of the items on your cart, as well as the destination. You will find exact shipping fees shown at the checkout page, once your address and postal code have been entered.

When will my order arrive?

We typically ship within 24 hours or one (01) business day after receipt of the order and confirmation of payment. Once your order has been packaged and labelled, you will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail confirmation with tracking information.

Travel times are displayed in Business Days next to each post service option. The business days start on the day after your receive confirmation of shipment.

For example, if your delivery time at checkout indicates 3 business days, and you are placing your order on a Tuesday, the order ships on Wednesday. The 1st Business day is Thursday, 2nd Business day is Friday and the 3rd Business Day is Monday of the following week. 

Similarly, if you pick a carrier with a 1 day delivery time, the order that is placed, for example on a Monday, ships on Tuesday and delivers on Wednesday.

No shipments or deliveries occur on weekends or holidays.

When a rush delivery is required or your order is time sensitive, you need to select the appropriate shipping method at the checkout page. In present times, carriers have indicated the delivery times are not guaranteed. Please order early!

Do you offer Curbside Pick Up?

At this time, we do not have an efficient way to offer this option to our Calgary customers, but we are working on it.

Can my parcel be shipped to a different location?

We can ship a parcel to an address different than the billing address. The Shipping Address and Billing Address (as well as all customer information fields) must be filled in by the customer during checkout.

Our website DOES NOT auto-correct or edits in anyway ANY of these fields. It is important that shipping and billing addresses are entered correctly to ensure the safe and proper delivery of a parcel to its destination. Party Things is not responsible for errors on customer-entered shipping information.  

Can anyone receive my parcel?

Party Things tracks each one of our parcels until it is delivered to your door.

All carriers are exercising 'Non-Contact' delivery methods these days, therefore it is standard for the carriers' mailman to drop off the parcel at a residence front door or your community mailbox. No signature option is available at this time.

Rush Deliveries

When a rush delivery is required, you need to select the appropriate shipping method at the checkout page.

PO Boxes

Yes, we do ship to any PO Box address and rural areas through Canada Post. Keep in mind that delivery times are usually a bit longer. Canada Post must be selected as your carrier, as PO Boxes are strictly a Canada Post service.

Special Orders

Party Things is happy to quote on special packs and assortments of merchandise. If one or several products you need for a special order are not available or you need a larger quantity than what is on stock at any given time, we will order from our suppliers and consolidate one shipment, unless back-ordered item is unshipped 2 weeks before the holiday. Allow 5-7 business days for out of stock items. Party Things will confirm shipment date at the time we receive your order. For large / special orders, please contact us in advance.
